We developed this very lightweight device whilst on tour with an artist who wanted to be able to loop arrangement sections in real time, to allow for dynamic engagement with the audience.

In order to facilitate this request, we needed to implement a means of cueing the band so that they knew when the loop was ending. By splitting the click and cues tracks in Ableton and creating a device which muted the cue track’s output when the loop switch was engaged, we were able to do just that.

The application is simple: just drag the device onto any audio channel in your project which you would like to be muted while the loop switch is engaged.

Requirements:

Loop Mute requires Live 10 or 11 Suite, or Live 10 or 11 Standard with Max for Live, to be installed.

The minimum supported release of Live is 10.1.43.

The minimum supported release of Max is 8.3.1.

We recommend always running the latest release of Max.
